I've been using Vortex Tracker for years and I love it! :)

But recently I have been speaking to a game developer about putting my music in a game. He said he would prefer me to use Arkos Tracker or WYZ Tracker instead. This is because:

1. Vortex Tracker demands a lot of resources which would slow the game down more.

2. Vortex Tracker doesn't have a sound effects module, so it's not suitable for game development.

Does anyone know if this is true, or if there are ways around this? Or a way to convert to Arkos format?

I would love to put my Vortex tunes in a real game.

I suppose you can save your tracks in the format *.pt3 and it can use on real zx spectrum machines. Usualy, game developers may use pt3 tracks.
But if you want putting your music in not-spectrum game (PC-game e.g.) you can save modules as WAV-files. Game developer may convert it and split into needed formats.

Yep, pt3 player it pretty slow on complex tracks.

Oh, come on. Crystal Kindom Dizzy and other games use a music writen with vortex tracker. Playing soundFX with pt3 modules and with other modules is the same code. It's all about coder :)

As far as i know there is no way to convert in arkos or wyz format.

Thanks for info Denis! :)

I think I will have to start using Arkos to make game music. And use Vortex just for fun.
