My friends,

I was thinking. Was there 'back in the 1980's' perhaps any 'clones' / 'copies' of this hardware over there ?

I see on Ebay quite a few ZX clones but I have never seen a Acorn BBC Micro 'clone' , or thinking about this an Amstrad CPC clone ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Micro , the 'Model B' really , the Master is a bit too different.

I am merely just curious to know. :)

Если компьютеры, собранные на FPGA считать за клоны - тогда BBC Micro всех моделей и CPC довольно много и точно реализовано)

There weren't any, because of complex custom chips like video ULA.
In the meantime, there was an Italian copy of Master called Olivetti Prodest 128S (pretty affordable from Italian eBay btw)
Not that a clone but rather a licensed copy with some Italian MOS.
I call it blasphemy just because it comes with no red F keys!

Actually zx clones in exUSSR became widely available only since 1988, when Z80 CPU was imported by tourists and workers on business trips mainly from Poland and GDR. ZX was simple (~50 ics), colorful and playful computer. In Poland commodore-64 and atari 8bit was considered too expensive and too complicated for the home usage compared to ZX at the time. mos6502 with supporting chipset was not easily available in exUSSR, also mc6845 based video is kinda expensive and complicated, it was considered as professional class chip. So, no wonder that nobody cloned expensive and not game related computer (also consider availability of schematics and components for ibm xt clones with similar to acorn bbc b prise tag and much more advanced software).
