While the game was still legally obtainable, it effectively banned the game from distribution, as technologies such as the Internet were not available at the time and German publications were not permitted to advertise the titles.

выделеное слово переводится как "напоминали" (в значении "были похожи"), т.е. это тараканы в голове у немчинских банщиков, а Joe Blade к ВОВ никаким боком.

Про Великую Отечественную не знаю ни одной игры, т.к. буржуи эту тему не очень любят, а наши авторы в своих играх эту тему не затрагивали. Stalingrad - это игра про войну немцев против русских. 1942,1943 - про войну на Тихом океане. Корректнее спрашивать игры про "World War II".

(а вот тут я задумался - как называть то,что почти у каждого дома/на работе ?
PC-PersonalComputer,IBM (кажется InternationalBusinessMachine) ???
