Maybe it's still no SID ;) but -

It's another attempt to force AY chip to more complex synthesis of sound (instead of square waves again and again). AY doesn't like to play interesting instruments, so it was a hard work. ;)

You can find here instruments similar to SID and sometimes similar to filters. Worth to note that all of this works without any additional CPU's activity - only 50hz (unlike Atari ST where people use additional CPU's procedures to their AY/YM work).

Ну это звучание хоть и необычное, но уже имело место быть в спектрум музыке. Например, Конверсия музыки Skavenger (Atari ST) от X-Agon (http://zxtunes.com/downloads.php?id=1858). Принцип тот же.

We can connect real SID to ZX. This is SID interface for SAM COUPE computer (ZX clone).

SAM COUPE have similar bus as ZX Spectrum(russian clones) and this SID interface is possible connect to any ZX computer (only different BUS connector)

SID is very rare chip :v2_down: but exist new replacement :
