Heh, I remember we were making such games in late 80s, with our first coder - Mr Hangman. :)
Of course without AY music (there was no SoundTracker yet, and AY-interfaces were expensive,
especially for reeeeeeally young teenagers :) ). There were only some simple BEEPs in
those games. Also the progs were mostly monochromatic because Hangman had only
black&while TV-set. :) :)
But yes - the games looked similar; I even designed the protagonist in almost the same way
we were doing it back in the days. :) :)
I remember our "Ghost eating" and other labyrinth games that sadly haven't survived to contemporary
times, :) since 1986-1988 (before we started to make some first shitty demos in 1989 ;) ).
So - here is a monument of those times and those programs. :)

As for the RetroKomp party: we decided to put the game into RetroKomp's
"Retro Game Compo". There was actually some misunderstanding 'though.
As You may know, there are tens of new games on ZX Spectrum, year by year.
Mostly theyre highly advanced in a graphic and coding way. Usually theyre
better than the commercial games that have been released in the Golden Era of ZX.
Thats why from time to time Sinclair users make some simple games in early 80s
style, to get some oldschool feeling too.
Hence - we made the game and decided to stick it into the RetroKomp's
"Retro Game Compo", as we thought its a Compo for Retro Games. Finally
Mr Mccnex put us out of our miserable mistake, explaining that the compo is about
Games for Retro Computers. ;)
But it was too late the game entered the compo and Mccnex kept it tightly in his
dirty hands and didnt want to let go. ;)
So here it is, competing with games for Amiga and so on, where people wanted
to make as good game as possible. ;)
Ah well. Enjoy the Retro Games spirit of early 80s Sinclair labyrinth productions!

PS: TK90XFan was so kind to make a TR-DOS version of the game.
The TR-DOS version works 100% OK with Beta128 (Russian machines) and Beta48 (TK90X and TK95 computers).
Thx a lot!!!!!!
