Bobo, интересно. На скриншотах про амигу, nec адекватно интерполирует пал разрешение, сразу в 1280*1024. А тут косяк. Вот так купишь Benq, а он тоже будет фигню выдавать.
Плюс опять видно помехи. Не понимаю. Уже раздельно подаю кадровую и строчную, а помехи на месте. Нужно устранить их!

tank-uk, Как побороть помехи как у меня - полосы и рябь? Провод я запаял без чередования земли с ргб и синхрой. Может тоже чередование сделать?

how would I best go about programming the firmware for the MAX7064? I still have an old ByteBlasterMV cable and a virtual machine with Windows XP (+ LPT passthrough) for that purpose.
sprinter.zip/LAST/ALTERA/SP2_7064.xCF is the file I need to program from my understanding so far? I've previously only worked with .pof files.

i recommend to use CY7C109-15 or IDT71024S15. alliance memory may have artifacts on Sprinter.

Hey there, now that my SIMM slot has finally arrived (8 weeks delivery time) I started up my sprinter for the first time yesterday :)
Works great so far, except that booting from disk isn't possible. I'm using this image from the velesoft site: https://velesoft.speccy.cz/sprinter/...age+writer.zip + rawrite3.com from freeDOS (http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-.../disk/rawrite/).
On the DOS machine I can see the contents of the disk, but on the sprinter I get maybe 10 seconds of disk activity before the computer hangs. Very occasionally I get a reboot.
What would be an alternative approach to make a HDD bootable? I successfully formated one of my drives on my DOS machine and copied everything from the Bootdisk over to the freshly formated partition, sadly that didn't work either.

I can't even get that far ... booting from floppy doesn't work.
This is the furthest I've got. Usually it hangs at the "Start from Diskette ..." sometimes it gets to the OK. This was the first time I actually got the invalid bootsector message.
I'm using a KR1818VG93 from Quasar (the one with the "windows" in the case). Exchanging it with another one, I get the "OK" message a lot more reliable.
Both chips and the drive used work nicely on my Pentagon48.

I don't have a windows PC anymore with a floppy drive.
I'm using the image by velesoft + rawrite3 from FreeDOS on my 486 machine.
Shockwav3, try to check fdd cable. you must use zx spectrum like cable, not as for PC with inverted lines!
what the OS you use on your PC? MAC OS or Linux? you can try to manually format fdd (FAT12, 1.44mb size) and then use "dd" command for write image.

FDD cable is fine, it's a 1:1 cable that I usually use with my Pentagon48.
I'm quite sure the image is fine ... I can see the files like with any FAT12 floppy on my MSDOS machine.
I've tried extracting the files from the image and copying them over manually (and setting the file attributes manually), no improvement. My current guess is that the VG93 controllers are having an issue with the HD mode.

Same issue with the MB8877.
The sprinter detects the bootdisk, the disk drive then steps maybe 4-5 times and then hangs :(
Now installing Windows98 on my 486 so I can use the included image program with the bootdisk image.
Booting worked :) Seems like my HD floppies were bad.
Booting from HDD also works now.
Where do I need to put the ZX ROMs? And which ones does I need? I've read that TRDOS has a special Sprinter Version?
images in the standard trd, before launch you need to run the configurator spectrum

EDIT: Found them and successfully ran a few Pentagon 128 demos :)
Seems like I'm having issues with the sound (dropouts) and occasional junk pixels on the screen ... but so far a lot is working already, which is good :)
Hm ... Beeper sound is fine, only AY sound appears to be broken.
I've currently used this version of the BIOS (https://velesoft.speccy.cz/sprinter/...em/bios300.zip) ... maybe it's the wrong version?
EDIT: Looks like I might have the same problem as Anubis and Tank-UK and ended up with Fake TDA1543 DACs (https://zx-pk.ru/threads/28420-kompy...ka/page10.html) ... just ordered some replacements.
Second order were fakes as well ... I've helped myself by salvaging a TDA1387 from an older SoundBlaster16 soundcard and adapting the SMD to DIP ... now the sprinter sounds like it should (volume is a bit low, I guess).
Well, this sucks ... no idea how to tell fakes from real ones. I've found a few stores which would very likely sell legit chips, but they have high minimum orders.

Is it possible to trigger an NMI on the Sprinter? For example for the shadow monitor in Scorpion mode.
Also, have there been any updates to the FPGA firmware? I noticed the Scorpion and Sinclair modes don't completely work with multicolor effects (Pentagon works fine).
NMI button (print screen) is disabled in FPGA core. You can see it in last sources of soft core (not current version, but before). but you can make hardware upgrade for hardware NMI button.Цитата:

Looks like it is almost working correctly when selecting the "ZX Original" mode, but the lower RAM bank being contended/slow. With "Scorpion" mode the screen seems to set up incorrectly.

Уважаемые пользователи Спринтеров. У меня вопрос: есть такая утилита - spectrum.exe, которая включает режим "виртуальной машины" или проще говоря, переключает Спринтер в режим пятногона. Там в файлах конфигурации есть 2 возможнных параметра - /ret-fn и /ret-zx. Так вот, хочу попросить вас проверить работу параметра /ret-fn. По логике - находясь в 128м режиме и при необходимости "ребутнуть" машину или выйти в ДОС (Estex), нажимаем на CTRL+ALT+DEL и режим 128к закрывается и программа возвращает управление ДОСу. Т.е. проще говоря клавиатурный ресет это выход в ДОС. На моей плате этот параметр не работает. при нажатии указанной комбинации происходит полная перезагрузка компа. Работает только параметр /ret-zx, который оставляет включённым режим 128к при использовании комбинации сброса. Только аппаратный ресет в данном случае сделает перезагрузку машины полной. Можете у себя проверить, как он отрабатывает у вас? версия Спринтера не важна. Любая от 2000 и выше, биос 2.17 и выше.
второй вопрос - нам загрузка TAPок вообще нужна? или всем пофиг вообще чё там и как? прикрутить не сложно, как выяснилось...
ещё до кучи: как известно, у спринтера есть косячок - при работе в 128м режиме, нам доступен только 1 единственный диск - это диск С: который обязан начинаться с 63го сектора. Все образы приходится кидать в корень диска, данные того же ДУМа тоже должны быть в корне диска. перемещаться по каталогам нельзя. Проблема определена и определён способ её решения. оно нам надо? будем пилить новую виртуальную машин или всех старая устраивает (или если быть более точным, Спринтер у всех валяется на полках и пыль собирает?)?
Говоря про виртуальную машину я имею в виду новая spectrum.exe и новые подгружаемые файлы прошивок для 128го режима.
