В XPort есть telnet-server, к которому можно подключиться по сети. И таким образом управлять устройством, подключенным к RS-232, используя любой телнет-клиент, например, Гипер-терминал. В данном случае команды с клиента "прозрачно" транслируются на порт RS-232.
Вы что специально дурочку врубаете ?
Я вам только что в предыдущем посте привел описание из даташита на 125-ти страницах и специально жирным выделил:

1.2 Protocol Support
The XPort™ uses the Internet Protocol (IP) for network communications and the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to assure that no data is lost or duplicated, and that everything sent to the connection arrives correctly at the target.

Other supported protocols are listed below:
􀂃 ARP, UDP, TCP, ICMP, Telnet, TFTP, AutoIP, DHCP, HTTP, and SNMP for network communications and management.
􀂃 TCP, UDP, and Telnet for connections to the serial port.

Специально для вас еще раз объясняю, фраза:
TCP, UDP, and Telnet for connections to the serial port.
означает что эти протоколы работают не по виртуальному ком порту,
а именно со стороны реального.
