"The Ofcom Online Safety Act kicked into action last month, and it requires websites such as internet forums to address the potential for illegal activity on their site. This includes things like child grooming, terrorism, illegal trades and pornography.
There’s a lot to take in here, and we’ll need some time to think about how we’ll do it. It’s clear that sites are closing down and we need to take it seriously. We want to play it safe so I’m afraid PMs and ‘adult’ titles will be disabled while we decide what to do.
Adult titles will be disabled soon, probably tomorrow. You’ll be helping us if you can stay away from discussions of the censored games, which we’ll need to take a stronger line on.
PMs will be stopped later next week, probably Friday 11th, and we'll send an email. We'll still have access to old PMs, but we won't be able to send new ones.
