Если вы бы хотели какийе то информации об ESI (но по моему - ето не историа но мои вспоминания) я могу написать что то. Но я предпочитал бы ползовать английский или полский яазык

Да мы бы хотели. А еще хочется увидеть список Ваших демок на всех платформах. А так же историю создания Lyra 2 Megademo.

Я могу сделать страничку Вашей группы на моем сайте. Если пришлете подписанные фотки и историю группы на английском. обязательно сделаю.

Hey Mat! Really great to hear you after all this years! Unbelievable.. No, really.. I'm back to my 17 years.. (Hehe, I'm also kind of old "dinosaur" on this forum...)
No doubts, ESI inc. was an true origins for spectrum demo-scene, and in particular - we started our group, Flash inc. after watching Lyra-II :-)
You guys showed well-style and "what's possible for spectrum". And I think its correct to call ESI "roots of sinclair demo-scene" . Yes, I know about old "musical demonstrations" (mainly picture + ripped game music) that exists before Shock/Lyra. But ESI demos was an so-called "killer app's" in this area..
What important also - you (you? or someone else from ESI? - tell us!) placed "alcohol-drunken-stylistic-with-fun-texts" under all yours demos. (Yeah, I remember Lyra part with bottle..) Which stylistic, in turn, very well suited for russians :) And we, among others copied that fun style. I.e. demos coded being drunk, drunk parties, alcohol-related text and other :) Nevertheless, we recognized that all was only jokes. By the way, it is clearly seen in our Flash inc. and Codebusters first demos (1993..1994).

Mat! Please! Make an attempt to describe atmosphere of these old days... I'm curious.. We all curious..
Also feel free to use russian, your russian is good. We read it well.

Well... It was the time we started our "adult" lives and were oficially allowed to drink... So we drunk... and drunk... and coded... and use our drunken state as a base for the "style" or to cover our problems with english ... or both probably...

Nevertheless, we recognized that all was only jokes.

Of course it was, but the idea of recording a whole night drinking session (drinking, playing cards, talking, watching some porn on cable tv ) on tape and then use it as a base for our demos was... well... for the lack of other words... fresh
And the code done during such sessions was... mostly not working But the ideas were created that way - The Lyra (first demo under the ESI name) was mostly coded while drinking, The Lyra II was started during five-days-non-stop-drinking-session. That was the atmosphere - mostly filled with ethanol

Also feel free to use russian, your russian is good. We read it well.

Yeah... You read it, but I have to write it first and without a keyboard with russian symbols on it it's constant trials-and-errors, constant windows switching and I have to use dictionary/translator as I have quite a lot of problem with my vocabulary. So I prefer to use english or polish if it's not a problem

Do you mind to code a little demo? ;-)

Oh... I don't think so... Last time I did something even remotely similar to coding for Spectrum was the excersises I did for GameBoy some 7 or 8 years ago. I would have to set-up some kind of developement environement, and - what is most important - find the idea to code around I don't see it coming in any forseeable future

thank you for your replies and live session here! You're true legends for all of us, i think, and more info (in english is ok, thanks) is welcome. Especially interested in photos of you at those days of early 90-s, and now.

remember me myself being 16y.o trying to remake floppy version of lyra and shock to my speccy 48 with the tape =) even succeeded after few days of asspain. I watched and watched it over again and was so happy=) 15 years passed now.. oh time, time.

think you did for speccy demoscene exactly that Future Crew did for PC with innovative "2-nd reality". There were no concurrents for you and for them that time.

Matt, ESI demos for Speccy is very nice till now. me and my friends like them.
