The verbatim translation of "нежное напоминание" (a gentle reminder) means the same as "a gentle hint" in the context of quoted thanks and maybe represented as a form of irony.
But "a gentle nagging reminder" as I see is similar to an encouragement that reminds. Right?
Russian idioms are funny too, e.g. "Сдается мне" does not mean a surrender at discretion, it equals to "It seems".
