FONTEDITOR for DESKTOP (proportional fonts)



this books is writed and printed from DESKTOP on real ZX Spectrum with printer:

DESKTOP contain drivers for different printers. Printer is connect to ZX Spectrum via PIO 8255 (parallel port) on port 31,63 and 127 (same ports as on ZX PROFI).

It's funny but slooooow
Russian editors are focused on plain text editing, not printing. For print, this one seems to be the best. For text edit, try ACEdit

Desktop is little slow, because it doing realtime compression on edited text, 48kB is not too much, for documents remains only cca 22kB.

128k version of this editor using expanded memory for plugins, not for document data.

I think, Desktop is the only fully WYSIWYG editor for ZX Spectrum.

How does it utilize different font sizes on printer? Some vector font format?
